The Story of Mindful Matcha
My name is Sahra Hainke and I created Mindful Matcha because I believe that mindfulness can positively affect the success of individuals, as well as companies in the long term. Therefore helping managers and busy professionals, as well as companies to achieve lasting success in the workplace is our key mission.

By mindfulness, we at Mindful Matcha understand “taking care”. First and foremost taking care of oneself, because we believe this is the only way to feel at your best and achieve all your goals and intentions. Making sure you feel healthy and energized by being aware of your body, mind and feelings in the present moment is in our eyes the “secret” to success both in the workplace and outside. It is also the only way you will be able to really take care of others and help them to develop this level of self-awareness and drive for success.
Our Matcha green tea powder
Our first product - „Mindful Matcha“ is ceremonial grade matcha green tea powder, which has all nutrients and elements needed to help professionals improve their focus, concentration and mindfulness at the workplace, as well as in their private lives, thus achieving better results in all areas.“Mindful Matcha” is hand-picked from the Uji region near Kyoto, in the heart of Japan. Our product contains 100% pure green tea matcha powder, which is tested on a regular basis in German institutes specialized in tea to ensure and maintain the highest quality possible.
Three years ago I was working more than 50 hours a week in a full-time job, while simultaneously doing an executive MBA. Although, I was very driven and excited for all opportunities that lay before me, this very demanding schedule often left me feeling completely exhausted and stressed at the end of each day, which turned to weeks and months of chronic tiredness. After realizing that this was hindering my work performance and private relationships I decided that it was time for me to make a change.
Positive affects on my health from using Matcha tea
One of the first personal adjustments I made was with my nutrition and diet in order to help my body and mind recover from the permanent tiredness I was experiencing. And even though I was an avid coffee drinker and a connoisseur, I decided to switch to a healthier alternative I had discovered – matcha green tea. Not only that I don’t regret this choice today, I am convinced that I will never go back to coffee, as I have experienced so many positive benefits since I am regularly drinking matcha green tea. A cup of matcha tea daily gives me the right dose of caffeine; it has helped my focus, motivation and overall wellbeing tremendously, as well as my performance at work. Not to mention the positive side effects such as weight loss, improved skin condition and an overall better mood.
This is why I decided to bring the benefits of matcha green tea to other professionals worldwide and the idea to create Mindful Matcha was born. I came up with the actual name in 2017, during a 4-week trip in Bali, after attending a yoga lesson. During this month of travel, yoga and finding my inner peace I was surrounded by wonderful mindful people who helped me crystalize the business idea for my start up and connect mindfulness with matcha.
